Frequently Asked Questions

Who is allowed to do land surveys?

In Washington State only a Professional Land Surveyor is able to do land surveying.

What kind of land surveys does Clark Land Office perform?

We offer many different services which can be found on our Services Page, located in the top menu of the webpage.

When should I have a survey done?

Below are some situations when a survey is recommended:

  • The land title is being transferred into another parties possession and the land boundaries are not clearly defined.
  • There are plans for future construction work on the land.
  • A division of the land is occurring due to a court order, deed, will, or by will of the owner.
  • You believe that the current boundaries and/or description of your land are incorrect.
  • A boundary dispute exists between you and another relevant party.

How much does a land survey cost?

There is no one answer to this question, as the cost of a land survey can vary depending on many different factors. Some of the factors that will affect the cost of a land survey are:

  • Type of survey required
  • Size and shape of land
  • Type of terrain and the level of accessibility to the land
  • Time of the year
  • And other factors will all contribute to the cost

Clark Land Office does provide estimates for surveying work though. You can find our Estimate Inquiry tool in the top menu on the webpage.
